KDB Public School, Ghaziabad celebrated the closing ceremony of its Annual Sports Day in the proud presence of the Chief Guest – Mr. Abhishek Verma – Compound Archer, Recipient of Arjuna Award 2014.  The Guest of Honour Mr. Inderjeet singh Pabla, Project Officer, Teams Division, Sports Authority of India.  The well organized ceremony showcased plethora of activities, including aerobics, drill on self defense, track events, tug of war and cultural show.

The chilly morning of 20th December 2014 could not dampen the spirit of Kdbians and the concept of overall development was well conveyed through various games and sports on this day.  The melodious welcome song followed by well synchronized March Past was appreciated by all.  The sharp gestures of students performing aerobics were the center of attraction for everyone.  The drill on self defense was quite useful as everyone could learn the art of self defense in a natural way. 

Tug of war brought teachers and parents closer to each other.  The final events 100 meter races and relay races had quite a few nail biting finishes.

Sanskar House emerged as the overall winner of the Sports Meet and was heavily cheered as its members received the prestigious trophy.  Honourable Chief Guest Shri Abhishek Verma while felicitating the achievers expressed his elation and satisfaction and said that proper training along with consistent efforts can do wonders.  He also encouraged the students and their parents to come forward and see new avenues in the field of sports and games.  Guest of Honour Shri Interjeet Singh Pabla was specially influenced by the energy and enthusiasm displayed in various track events.

Principal of the school Mrs. Nivedita Rana emphasized on the necessity of regular sports programme so that the future policy makers – i.e. students can strike a balance between academics and sports.  The programme ended with the vote of thanks presented by the Vice Principal Mrs. Namrata Dubey.
