NITI Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) has selected K.D.B. Public School for establish-ment of Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL).
The school has received grant of Rs. 12 lakhs followed by other installments total amounting to Rs. 20 lakhs spread over next 5 years to establish labs for nurturing innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.
It is a step towards a new India. ATL would contain educational “do it yourself” kits and equipments on – science, electronics, robotics, open source microcontroller boards, sensors and 3D printers etc.
The inaugration of Atal Tinkering Lab in KDB Public School Ghaziabad make a new phase of learning based on innovation, inquiry and inquiestiveness. Mr. Vasudev Sharma, a senior scientist at Niti Aayog was the chief guest for the day. He inaugurated the fully furnished ATAL lab amidst the school dignateries, teachers and the students. The enthusiasm and the efforts of the school were well recoginsed by chief guest as were reflected in his words. He said that the future of learning process lies in the fact how strong the technology of today is. ATAL lab in which students were strengthening of their innovation and creative skills. Main objective of Niti Aayog is to establish ATAL Lab in schools which provide appropriate opportunities to the students to exhibit a habit of skill of skill development, scientific temperament, reasoning and learning by doing.
The Principle of the school, Mrs. Nivedita Rana was elated and satisfied seeing the systematic approach appropriate for the demands of tomorrow. She expressed her assurance regarding maximum utility of the facility provided to the school. The Vice Principle, Mrs. Namrata Dubey urged everyone to be a fruitful part of ATL. The Director of school, Mrs. Bimla Saini spoke about the need and significance of the tools like ATL in this extremely advanced world.
