With a vision of a cleaner and healthier India and a mission to infuse the zeal for turning this vision into a reality, KDB Public School, Ghaziabad devised yet another noble venture ‘Raahgiri – Swasthya, Swacchhta, Mei hee Jeevantata’ on Saturday December 29, 2018. The initiative took the people a step closer to the country’s drive and dream of a clean and healthy India.
The event was graced by distinguished guests Sh. R. N. Pandey, Upper City Commissioner, Sh. Pramod Kumar, Upper City Commissioner, Sh. Harkishan Gupta, Zonal Incharge Kavi Nagar, Sh. A. K. Mishra, Nodal Officer Swachhta Abhiyan and City Councilor Sh. Himanshu Mittal including the members of the school management committee. The students put up a lively show with a display of plethora of school activities, each one aiming to spread the message of promoting healthy practices like cycling, yoga, walking, jogging and sports. The melodious tunes of the school orchestra, complimented by the well synchronized march past by Bagpipers and NCC Cadets, filled the atmosphere with unparalleled vigour & vitality. The theatre group presented a skit to emphasize the importance of cleanliness and how to maintain it.
Playing games is the key to a long and healthy life. Some nuances and technicalities of the games like kho kho, football, cricket and badminton were showcased by the young brigade of the school as the onlookers marveled at their deft display. Equally agile were nimble- footed trainee of yoga who demonstrated some very useful ‘Yogasanas’ helpful in keeping the diseases at bay. The tricks of self defence for girls were the core of Muathai techniques.
The audience, mostly parents and the passersby were completely charmed by the concept and its execution. The picture of a clean, green hale & hearty India emerged clear and large as the chief guest showered his whole hearted appreciation and blessings on the participants. The principal Mrs. Nivedita Rana, in her address, sent the message loud and clear – ‘Roads are beautiful when they belong to people’ as she motivated the onlookers and all present there to boost the use of non-motorized vehicles on road. All the guests enjoyed the show thoroughly congratulated the school staff and students on the successful enterprise.
